Together we can reduce the stigma associated with mental health challenges, provide education on suicide intervention, and honor those we lost too soon.
Sponsored in Partnership with the “Into the Light” Walk in Pleasantville hosted by BTH Break the Hold.
We are deeply greateful to our partners:
Break the Hold Foundation (BTH) is a Pleasantville based organization committed to “Break the Hold” on mental illness and to provide education about suicide intervention. It was founded in 2018 as an outpouring of grief and love following the loss of the founder’s son. This year will mark their 6th Annual “Into the Light” walk - an event that has grown year after year to include hundreds of participants.
New Castle United for Youth is a community coalition which receives funding through a federal Drug Free Communities grant. NCUFY brings together all sectors of the New Castle community to promote positive and healthy choices by our youth including through youth and adult education about alcohol and other drugs. NCUFY helps to sponsor positive events and activities which encourage and empower youth and offers resources for parents seeking information on and how to talk with their children about difficult topics.
The Chappaqua Library is a center for community engagement and personal enrichment, providing users with a place where people and ideas meet to change lives. The goals of the Chappaqua Library include meeting the needs of our community by providing educational and cultural materials, providing a welcoming environment for human interaction, intellectual stimulation and cultural enrichment, and to work with institutions, organizations and individuals within the community in the pursuit of these goals.
Horace Greeley High School Student Clubs are supporting this year’s surnise walk through various clubs and teams. Students against Destructive Decisions (SADD), members of the Mental Wellness Club, as well as athletes on the Greeley Varsity Football Team are partnering with the New Castle Committee for Mental Resilience to publicize the walk and volunteer to make sure the event goes off safely and smoothly.
